International Breastfeeding Icon
Monday, December 18, 2006 at 10:05PM ![]()
I love the new International Breastfeeding Icon! I can't wait to be traveling in an airport, or perusing the stacks at a bookstore, and see this breastfeeding friendly icon on the wall. Mothers and babies everywhere can now have an easier time in feeding their babies comfortably and quickly in public with the clarity of the breastfeeding icon.
Help spread the word about this icon, by letting your local businesses, universities, and airports know about the new breastfeeding logo. The use of the breastfeeding symbol helps to educate people about breastfeeding, avoid the pervasive use of the bottle in images of infant feedings, and support mothers and babies to have healthy breastfeeding experiences.
The symbol was designed by Matt Daigle, a dad from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and was the winning entry in Mothering Magazines's International Breastfeeding Icon contest. The breastfeeding symbol is copyright free and available for public use. To download the image, read an interview with Matt Daigle, and find out more information go to the Mothering website.
