H.U.G. Your Baby DVD

H.U.G. Your Baby is a new DVD to help parents learn how to Help, Understand & Guide their babies to optimal mood, sleep, eating, and playing. Created by Jan Tedder, B.S.N., a family nurse practitioner with over 30 years experience working with new families and babies. She has formulated her knowledge of babies habits, zones, and reflexes into a clear method of teaching new parents to recognize their babies skills, abilities, and individual character.

As parents communicate with and observe their babies behaviors and responses, they will learn with patience and awareness how their baby responds to stimulation and how to calm and guide their baby. Parents learn in this video the answers to the important questions of: How do I calm my baby? How do I help my baby to eat and sleep well? & How do I play with my baby so she can grow and learn? This DVD teaches through clear instructions to parents and lots of examples of babies exhibiting different behaviors and responses.

This DVD would be a great addition to any library of a childbirth educator, obstetrician, pediatrician, midwife, doula, or parenting coach. Anyone working with infants will gain useful skills of observation and methods of calming and communicating with babies. This DVD is optimal to showing parents in childbirth, breastfeeding, or parenting classes because it is only 20 minutes long, and the movie shows parents and babies of multiple ethnicities.

Parents and professionals can both use more gentle information of how important it is to first look to baby and notice how baby responds and interacts with the world around. Babies may not be able to talk, but they do communicate in many many ways. Through learning this language we can all learn so much from our babies and it can clear up tons of worry and restlessness through understanding what your baby wants and needs to encourage optimal eating, sleeping, playing, and growing.
